Studio Spotlight - Core & Restore

"I never thought yoga was for me. I assumed it was mostly stretching and meditation, and my mind doesn’t slow down easily. That changed after a surfing accident with my family; I cracked a couple ribs and realized how much balance and core strength I was missing."
When a new studio opened in my small town, Core and Restore Yoga, I decided to give it a try.
My first class was hot power vinyasa.
About 45 minutes in I had to step outside to catch my breath, but I finished. For weeks I kept asking myself, “How are these people so strong?” I told friends it was tougher than parts of Army boot camp. So I went back. And back again. Before long, I was hooked.
What surprised me most was that yoga wasn’t what I expected.
It’s an incredibly demanding physical workout, combining strength, balance, breath, and focus. It also became a kind of forced meditation: if your mind wanders, you lose the pose. That concentration is what pulled me in.
A huge part of what makes Core and Restore special is Rosanna Singer, the owner.
She’s hardworking, passionate, and genuine. Beyond being an exceptional instructor, Rosanna has built a true community in our small town with people who genuinely care about one another. The studio has become a place of friendship and encouragement. There’s real conversation before and after class, quiet help with technique, and celebration of each person’s progress.
What I love most is that the practice meets you where you are.
Want an intense workout? Push yourself. Need something gentler that day? That’s fine too. No shame, no pressure. You bring what you have and take what you need.
Rosanna has created a space where people feel welcome and comfortable in their own skin. That sense of belonging and the challenge of the practice is what keeps me coming back.
